Medical billing for small practices
MedFlow bills insurance for independent practices that do not have a billing department. We submit claims, work what comes back, and show you what was paid.
Who this is for
Primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, and mental health practices with one to five providers. Many of the practices we want to work with are in smaller towns, where the front desk is also the biller.
If a hospital system already bills for you, this service is not a fit. If your spouse or office manager is posting payments at night, it is.
What we do each month
We check eligibility and prior authorization before the visit when the schedule tells us to. After the visit we code from the note, scrub the claim, and send it electronically. Denials are worked by reason code, not left in a pile. Patient statements go out for balances that are truly the patient’s.
You get a monthly report: charges, insurance collections, denial rate, days in accounts receivable, and the claims that need something from the clinic.
How the price works
The service is about 5% of insurance collections. The exact rate is confirmed after a free billing health check. There is no long contract. We sign a service agreement and a business associate agreement before we see any patient information.
