Primary care billing when there is no billing department
How a family medicine or internal medicine office with a few providers can get claims out without hiring a biller.
In a lot of independent primary care offices, billing is the office manager’s second job. Claims go out when the waiting room is empty. Denials go out never. The physician finds out in March that October’s Medicare wellness visits were billed as ordinary office visits.
The work itself is repetitive. Eligibility on the schedule. A note that says which problems were addressed. Codes that match that note. A claim. A remittance. A statement for what is left. A monthly look at days in accounts receivable. None of that requires a department. It requires a person who does it every day and a place where the open items are listed.
That is the service MedFlow sells to practices with one to five providers. The price is about 5% of insurance collections, confirmed after we see your totals. We do not need your electronic health record replaced. We need the schedule, the note, and a fee schedule.
What we still need from the clinic is the part only you know: the new insurance card, the referral, the sentence that was never dictated. Those come back as tasks, not as a vague email that says “please advise.”
If you want to see the shape of the work before a conversation, the demo at /demo is a fictional practice in the browser. Do not put a real patient in it.
